And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before thee what they had against him. Farewell.

But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

And they came to the chief kohanim and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Yerushalayim, laying wait in the way to kill him.

But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

And consulted that they might take Y'shuw`a by subtilty, and kill him.

Then he said, Elohim do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day.

Moshiach hath redeemed us from the curse of the Torah, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

If any man love not the Lord Y'shuw`a HaMoshiach, let him be accursed. YY comes!

Then Izevel sent a messenger unto Eliyah-yahu, saying, So let the elohim do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

And the men of Yisrael were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening, that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted any food.

Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in Elohim's Torah, which was given by Moshe the servant of Elohim, and to observe and do all The Commandments of YY our YY , and his judgments and his statutes;

And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of YY , and because he hath wrought folly in Yisrael.

And Y'howshu`a adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before YY , that riseth up and buildeth this city Yericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.

None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death.

But the children of Yisrael committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Karmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Yhudah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of YY was kindled against the children of Yisrael.

And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.

Thus saith YY -TZvaot, the Elohim of Yisrael, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.

And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:

But their laying await was known of Shaul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.

And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy.

In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

And the thing was known to Mordekhai, who told it unto Ester the queen; and Ester certified the king thereof in Mordekhai's name.
