And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Passover to bring him forth to the people.

And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of YY , that shall stand.

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the Synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.

As for Shaul, he made havock of the Congregation, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

And laid their hands on the emissaries, and put them in the common prison.

Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Y'shuw`a, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

After two days was the Feast of the Passover, and of Matzah: and the chief kohanim and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Kefa also. (Then were the days of Matzah.)

Kefa therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the Congregation unto Elohim for him.
