And David sent forth a third part of the people under the hand of Yoav, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of TZruyah, Yoav's brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people, I will surely go forth with you myself also.

Then tidings came to Yoav: for Yoav had turned after AdoniYAH, though he turned not after Avshalom. And Yoav fled unto the tabernacle of YY , and caught hold on the shofars of the altar.

And Yoav the son of TZruyah was over the host; and Yhoshafat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

But Abishai the son of TZruyah succoured him, and smote the Plishti, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Yisrael.
