And Avshalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Avshalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Yisrael.

When the morning was come, all the chief kohanim and elders of the people took counsel against Y'shuw`a to put him to death:

For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.

And when Moshe' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even?

And Hamor and Shkhem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying,

If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which YY thy Elohim shall choose;

And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.

And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
