And Avshalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Avshalom.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to YY : but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Shva, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.
