But Avshalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Yisrael, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the shofar, then ye shall say, Avshalom reigneth in Hevron.
All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hevron, to make David king over all Yisrael: and all the rest also of Yisrael were of one heart to make David king.
And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hevron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of YY .
Therefore came all the elders of Yisrael to the king to Hevron; and David made a covenant with them in Hevron before YY ; and they anointed David king over Yisrael, according to the word of YY by Shmuel.
Therefore he said unto his servants, See, Yoav's field is near mine, and he hath barley there; go and set it on fire. And Avshalom's servants set the field on fire.
Now Avshalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon's heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.
And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of YY , saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Yhudah? And YY said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hevron.
Wherefore Natan spake unto Bat-Sheva the mother of Shlomo, saying, Hast thou not heard that AdoniYAH the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our YY knoweth it not?
