Now Yoav the son of TZruyah perceived that the king's heart was toward Avshalom.

And the soul of king David longed to go forth unto Avshalom: for he was comforted concerning Amnon, seeing he was dead.

And there were three sons of TZruyah there, Yoav, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.

Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from YY .

Whose sisters were TZruyah, and Avigayil. And the sons of TZruyah; Abishai, and Yoav, and Asahel, three.

But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Avshalom, O Avshalom, my son, my son!

And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.

And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Avshalom, my son, my son Avshalom! would Elohim I had died for thee, O Avshalom, my son, my son!

And Yoav sent to Tekoah, and fetched thence a wise woman, and said unto her, I pray thee, feign thyself to be a mourner, and put on now mourning apparel, and anoint not thyself with oil, but be as a woman that had a long time mourned for the dead:
