Did not Shlomo king of Yisrael sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his Elohim, and Elohim made him king over all Yisrael: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.
Wherefore Natan spake unto Bat-Sheva the mother of Shlomo, saying, Hast thou not heard that AdoniYAH the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our YY knoweth it not?
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
And they told the king, saying, Behold Natan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.
Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Shlomo, and I will give peace and quietness unto Yisrael in his days.
And of Binyamin he said, The beloved of YY shall dwell in safety by him; and YY shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.
But Zadok the kohen, and Benaiah the son of Yhoyada, and Natan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men which belonged to David, were not with AdoniYAH.
