Wherefore hast thou despised The Commandment of YY , to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriay-yahu the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight YY 's battles. For Saul said, Let not mine hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Plishtim be upon him.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
And the men of the city went out, and fought with Yoav: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriay-yahu the Hittite died also.
And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Plishtim, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Plishtim.
And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Plishtim may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in the one of the twain.
Because David did that which was right in the eyes of YY , and turned not aside from any thing that he Commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriay-yahu the Hittite.
