Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.

Now the Plishtim fought against Yisrael: and the men of Yisrael fled from before the Plishtim, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.

Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.

Then Shmuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because YY hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?

Thus saith YY Elohim; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lvanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and tshofars: I will also Command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Plishtim came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa.

Now the Plishtim fought against Yisrael; and the men of Yisrael fled from before the Plishtim, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.

Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of YY , curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of YY , to the help of YY against the mighty.

Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men.

And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Plishtim came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his three sons fallen in mount Gilboa.
