Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Yisrael, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats.

Then Saul arose, and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, having three thousand chosen men of Yisrael with him, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.

When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.

They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

Saul chose him three thousand men of Yisrael; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Beit-El, and a thousand were with Yhonatan in Givah of Binyamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.

And he said, YY is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Plishtim: therefore they called that place Selahammahlekoth.
