And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Yhonatan was knit with the soul of David, and Yhonatan loved him as his own soul.

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

And Yhonatan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

I am distressed for thee, my brother Yhonatan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

Then Yhonatan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of Elohim, and of the Father, and of Moshiach;

Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life;

If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other elohim, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;

And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the Elohim of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

But Yhonatan Saul's son delighted much in David: and Yhonatan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:

So all the men of Yisrael were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.

Teach me thy way, O YY ; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

And the people said unto Saul, Shall Yhonatan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Yisrael? Elohim forbid: as YY liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with Elohim this day. So the people rescued Yhonatan, that he died not.

And Saul spake to Yhonatan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.

Therefore thou shalt deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of YY with thee: notwithstanding, if there be in me iniquity, slay me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?

That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Yishai, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?

And they two made a covenant before YY : and David abode in the wood, and Yhonatan went to his house.
