And when the Plishti looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.
And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And YY said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.
And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Plishti to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
And he said, Whether they be come out for peace, take them alive; or whether they be come out for war, take them alive.
And the Plishti came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him.
