And YY said unto Shmuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Yisrael? fill thine shofar with oil, and go, I will send thee to Yishai the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to RamothGilad:

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of YY , he hath also rejected thee from being king.

And Shmuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Shmuel mourned for Saul: and YY repented that he had made Saul king over Yisrael.

And again, Yeshayahu saith, There shall be a root of Yishai, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from Elohim troubleth thee.

Then Shmuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because YY hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?

And Shmuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of YY , and YY hath rejected thee from being king over Yisrael.

To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Binyamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Yisrael, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Plishtim: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed My Commandments. And it grieved Shmuel; and he cried unto YY all night.

Reprobate silver shall men call them, because YY hath rejected them.

And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith YY Elohim of Yisrael, I have anointed thee king over the people of YY , even over Yisrael.

And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from Elohim was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.

Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a Leader and Commander to the people.

And in that day there shall be a root of Yishai, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith YY , I have anointed thee king over Yisrael. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

Then said YY unto me, Though Moshe and Shmuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.

Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Yishai, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedon, and of Barak, and of Shimshon, and of Yiftach; of David also, and Shmuel, and of the prophets:

Since the day that I brought forth my people Yisrael out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Yisrael to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Yisrael.

Therefore came all the elders of Yisrael to the king to Hevron; and David made a covenant with them in Hevron before YY ; and they anointed David king over Yisrael, according to the word of YY by Shmuel.

Howbeit YY Elohim of Yisrael chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Yisrael for ever: for he hath chosen Yhudah to be the ruler; and of the house of Yhudah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Yisrael:

Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by YY of the whole earth.

Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of BethlehemYhudah, whose name was Yishai; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men for an old man in the days of Saul.
