And Shmuel said, Hath YY as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of YY ? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of Elohim, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
Woe unto you, scribes and Prushim, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the Torah, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of YY your Elohim; and YY will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.
Which I Commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I Command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your Elohim:
And Shmuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept The Commandment of YY thy Elohim, which he Commanded thee: for now would YY have established thy kingdom upon Yisrael for ever.
Therefore said I, The Plishtim will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto YY : I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.
They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but YY accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
