And the Plishtim gathered themselves together to fight with Yisrael, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Bethaven.

So YY saved Yisrael that day: and the battle passed over unto Bethaven.

And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

And their border on the north side was from Yarden; and the border went up to the side of Yericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Bethaven.

Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.

Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.

Now, O YY Elohim, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.

And Y'howshu`a sent men from Yericho to Ai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east of Beit-El, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

Yeshayahu also crieth concerning Yisrael, Though the number of the children of Yisrael be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

So the Plishtim were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Yisrael: and the hand of YY was against the Plishtim all the days of Shmuel.

Saul chose him three thousand men of Yisrael; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Beit-El, and a thousand were with Yhonatan in Givah of Binyamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.

And Shmuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Plishtim gathered themselves together at Michmash;

Now the Plishtim gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which belongeth to Yhudah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephesdammim.

Therefore I counsel that all Yisrael be generally gathered unto thee, from Dan even to Beer-Sheva, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that thou go to battle in thine own person.

And the children of Yisrael were numbered, and were all present, and went against them: and the children of Yisrael pitched before them like two little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country.

He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:

And there was sore war against the Plishtim all the days of Saul: and when Saul saw any strong man, or any valiant man, he took him unto him.
