Therefore said I, The Plishtim will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto YY : I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.
Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?
Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before YY ; and his name was Doeg, an Edomite, the chiefest of the herdmen that belonged to Saul.
And Shmuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Plishtim gathered themselves together at Michmash;
And Shmuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept The Commandment of YY thy Elohim, which he Commanded thee: for now would YY have established thy kingdom upon Yisrael for ever.
And when Shmuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Shmuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
And Shmuel said, Hath YY as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of YY ? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
