Then Shmuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because YY hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?
Then Shmuel took the shofar of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of YY came upon David from that day forward. So Shmuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Binyamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Yisrael, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Plishtim: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.
YY forbid that I should stretch forth mine hand against YY 's anointed: but, I pray thee, take thou now the spear that is at his bolster, and the cruse of water, and let us go.
Turn again, and tell Hizkiyah-yahu the captain of my people, Thus saith YY , the Elohim of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of YY .
And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to RamothGilad:
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of holy ones.
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.
Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Yisrael: and YY said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Yisrael, and thou shalt be a captain over Yisrael.
And he said unto his men, YY forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, YY 's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of YY .
But now thy kingdom shall not continue: YY hath sought him a man after his own heart, and YY hath Commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which YY Commanded thee.
The adversaries of YY shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: YY shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the shofar of his anointed.
Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,
And as they were going down to the end of the city, Shmuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of Elohim.
Behold, here I am: witness against me before YY , and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.
Shmuel also said unto Saul, YY sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Yisrael: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of YY .
And YY said unto Shmuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Yisrael? fill thine shofar with oil, and go, I will send thee to Yishai the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.
Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.
And Shmuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Yisrael, and YY anointed thee king over Yisrael?
I am one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Yisrael: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Yisrael: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of YY ?
