Moreover thou knowest also what Yoav the son of TZruyah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Yisrael, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.

And when Abner was returned to Hevron, Yoav took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Yoav's hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Yoav and Abishai his brother pursued after Shva the son of Bichri.

And the man said unto Yoav, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the king's son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Avshalom.

Then said Yoav, I may not tarry thus with thee. And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Avshalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak.

And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of TZruyah be too hard for me: YY shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith YY .

Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.

And YY shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing thereof, to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Yisrael, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Yhudah.

And he conferred with Yoav the son of TZruyah, and with Evyatar the kohen: and they following AdoniYAH helped him.

And Avshalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Yoav: which Amasa was a man's son, whose name was Ithra an Yisraelite, that went in to Avigayil the daughter of Nahash, sister to TZruyah Yoav's mother.

And there were three sons of TZruyah there, Yoav, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.

And the same Yochanan had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

And Yoav the son of TZruyah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Givon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.

Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.
