And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.
And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which YY hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.
When a prophet speaketh in the name of YY , if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which YY hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
And it came to pass, when king Yarovam heard the saying of the man of Elohim, which had cried against the altar in Beit-El, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.
And the king answered and said unto the man of Elohim, Intreat now the face of YY thy Elohim, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of Elohim besought YY , and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.
