But king Shlomo loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittitim:

Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.

Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.

Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.

And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their elohim, and make thy sons go a whoring after their elohim.

And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Yarovam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Izevel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

All these had taken strange wives: and some of them had wives by whom they had children.

Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

And Rechavam the son of Shlomo reigned in Yhudah. Rechavam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Yerushalayim, the city which YY did choose out of all the tribes of Yisrael, to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess.

And Rechavam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his stead.

Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Yisrael, and the kohanim, and the Lvim, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Kenaanim, the Hittitim, the Perizzites, the Yvusis, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.

For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.
