And anyone who uses the Temple to make a promise is really using the Temple and God, who lives in it.
Lord, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory is.
Now, Lord, I have built a beautiful Temple for you, where you may live forever.”
But, Lord, I have built a beautiful house for you to live in forever.”
I say this because all of God lives in Christ fully, even in his life on earth.
And in Christ you are being built together with his other people. You are being made into a place where God lives through the Spirit.
The priests could not enter the Lord’s Temple because the Glory of the Lord filled it.
“But, God, will you really live here with us on the earth? The whole sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you. Certainly this Temple that I built cannot contain you either.
Whoever uses the altar to make a promise is really using the altar and everything on the altar.
