Between three and six o’clock in the morning, Jesus’ followers were still in the boat. Jesus came to them. He was walking on the water.

He alone made the skies, and he walks on the ocean waves.

They rowed the boat about three or four miles. Then they saw Jesus. He was walking on the water, coming to the boat. They were afraid.

He saw the boat far away on the lake. And he saw the followers working hard to row the boat. The wind was blowing against them. Sometime between three and six o’clock in the morning, Jesus went out to the boat, walking on the water. He continued walking until he was almost past the boat.

What would a homeowner do if he knew when a thief was coming? You know he would be ready and not let the thief break in.

Those servants might have to wait until midnight or later for their master. But they will be glad they did when he comes in and finds them still waiting.

You built your home above them. You use the thick clouds like a chariot and ride across the sky on the wings of the wind.

Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven.

The angel was holding a small scroll. The scroll was open in his hand. He put his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land.

Then I heard the same voice from heaven again. It said to me, “Go and take the open scroll that is in the angel’s hand. This is the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”

You must always be ready. You don’t know when the owner of the house will come back. He might come in the afternoon, or at midnight, or in the early morning, or when the sun rises.
