When Jesus was twelve years old, they went to the festival as usual.

Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Passover festival.

When the festival was over, they went home, but Jesus stayed in Jerusalem. His parents did not know about it.

“So three times each year all the men will come to the special place to be with the Lord GOD.

Jesus traveled to Nazareth, the town where he grew up. On the Sabbath day he went to the synagogue as he always did. He stood up to read.

When he arrived in Galilee, the people there welcomed him. They had been at the Passover festival in Jerusalem and had seen everything he did there.
