He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for?” She thought he was the man in charge of the garden. So she said to him, “Did you take him away, sir? Tell me where you put him. I will go and get him.”

The angels asked Mary, “Woman, why are you crying?” Mary answered, “They took away the body of my Lord, and I don’t know where they put him.”

He asked them again, “Who are you looking for?” They said, “Jesus from Nazareth.”

Jesus turned and saw the two men following him. He asked, “What do you want?” They said, “Rabbi, where are you staying?” (“Rabbi” means “Teacher.”)

But the man said, “Don’t be afraid. You are looking for Jesus from Nazareth, the one who was killed on a cross. He has risen from death! He is not here. Look, here is the place they put him when he was dead.

The angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus, the one who was killed on the cross.

I will get up now! I will go around the city. In the streets and squares, I will look for the man I love. I looked for him, but I could not find him.

Don’t think I am a bad woman. I have been praying so long because I have so many troubles and am very sad.”

Jesus already knew everything that would happen to him. So he went out and asked them, “Who are you looking for?”

The women were very afraid. They bowed down with their faces to the ground. The men said to them, “Why are you looking for a living person here? This is a place for dead people.

You snakes! You are so evil. How can you say anything good? What people say with their mouths comes from what fills their hearts.

Beautiful woman, where has your lover gone? Which way did your lover go? Tell us so that we can help you look for him.

They traveled for a whole day thinking that Jesus was with them in the group. They began looking for him among their family and close friends,
