After many days, some Jews made plans to kill Saul.

When the council members heard this, they became very angry. They began to plan a way to kill the apostles.

So the leading priests made plans to kill Lazarus too.

Then the leading priests and Pharisees called a meeting of the high council. They said, “What should we do? This man is doing many miraculous signs.

It was now only two days before the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The leading priests and teachers of the law were trying to find a way to arrest Jesus without the people seeing it. Then they could kill him.

Then the Pharisees left and made plans with the Herodians about a way to kill Jesus.

The leading priests and the high council tried to find something against Jesus so that they could kill him. They tried to find people to lie and say that Jesus had done wrong.

None of the Pharisees could answer Jesus’ question. And after that day, no one was brave enough to ask him any more questions.

From that time Jesus began telling his followers that he must go to Jerusalem. He explained that the older Jewish leaders, the leading priests, and the teachers of the law would make him suffer many things. And he told his followers that he must be killed. Then, on the third day, he would be raised from death.

Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “If I give you an answer, you will probably kill me. And even if I give you advice, you will not listen to me.”

Then the royal officials who heard what Jeremiah was telling the people went to King Zedekiah. They said to the king, “Jeremiah should be put to death. He is discouraging the soldiers who are still in the city and everyone else by what he is saying. He is not looking for peace; he is just trying to cause trouble.”

May the Lord’s name be praised now and forever.

My enemies make plans against me. They have met together and are making plans to kill me.

I hear them whispering about me. They have turned against me and plan to kill me.

Their kings and leaders join together to fight against the Lord and his chosen king.

But I warned them, “Don’t stay the night in front of the wall. If you do that again, I will arrest you.” So from that time on they didn’t come on the Sabbath day to sell their things.

From that day on, half of my men worked on the wall. The other half of my men were on guard, ready with spears, shields, bows, and armor. The army officers stood behind all the people of Judah who were building the wall.

Joseph’s brothers saw him coming from far away. They decided to make a plan to kill him.

But the Pharisees left and made plans to kill Jesus.

In the meeting they tried to find a way to arrest and kill Jesus without anyone knowing what they were doing. They planned to arrest Jesus and kill him.

After this, Jesus traveled around the country of Galilee. He did not want to travel in Judea, because the Jewish leaders there wanted to kill him.
