God caused Ashpenaz, the man in charge of the officials, to be kind and loyal to Daniel.

Then I answered the king, “If it would please the king, and if I have been good to you, please send me to Jerusalem, the city in Judah where my ancestors are buried. I want to go there and rebuild that city.”

So, Lord, please listen to my prayer. And listen to the prayers of all your other servants who are happy to honor you. Help me today as I ask the king for help. Make him pleased with me so that he will be kind and give me what I ask for.” At that time, I was the king’s wine servant.

Saul sent a message to Jesse. “Let David stay and serve me. I like him very much.”

He asked the Lord, “Why did you bring this trouble on me? I am your servant. What did I do wrong? What did I do to upset you? Why did you give me responsibility over all these people?

My master drinks from that cup, and he uses it to learn secret things. What you did was wrong!’”

The Lord’s Holy Box stayed in Obed Edom’s house for three months. The Lord blessed Obed Edom and all his family.
