Isaac said to his father Abraham, “Father!” Abraham answered, “Yes, son?” Isaac said, “I see the wood and the fire. But where is the lamb we will burn as a sacrifice?”

The Spirit that we received is not a spirit that makes us slaves again and causes us to fear. The Spirit that we have makes us God’s chosen children. And with that Spirit we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword back in its place! I must drink from the cup the Father has given me.”

Then Jesus went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if I must do this and it is not possible for me to escape it, then I pray that what you want will be done.”

Then Jesus went on a little farther away from them. He fell to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, don’t make me drink from this cup. But do what you want, not what I want.”

This command is for the whole community of Israel: On the tenth day of this month each man must get one lamb for the people in his house.

Then Noah built an altar to honor the Lord. Noah took some of all the clean birds and some of all the clean animals and burned them on the altar as a gift to God.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God. He takes away the sins of the world!

He saw Jesus walking by and said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”

Everyone living on earth would worship the beast. These are all the people since the beginning of the world whose names are not written in the Lamb’s book of life. The Lamb is the one who was killed.

Abraham answered, “God himself is providing the lamb for the sacrifice, my son.” So both Abraham and his son went together to that place.

“Every day you must make an offering on the altar. You must kill two lambs that are one year old.
