The wind blows wherever it wants to. You hear it, but you don’t know where it is coming from or where it is going. It is the same with everyone who is born from the Spirit.”

You don’t know where the wind blows. And you don’t know how a baby grows in its mother’s womb. In the same way, you don’t know what God will do—and he makes everything happen.

He stopped the storm and calmed the waves.

He gave the command, and a strong wind began to blow. The waves became higher and higher.

All you know is that you sweat, your clothes stick to you, and all is still and quiet when the heat wave comes from the south.

Whirlwinds come from the south. The cold winds come from the north.

It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house. And it fell with a loud crash.”

“Whoever hears these teachings of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock.

But the Lord brought a great storm on the sea. The wind made the sea very rough. The storm was very strong, and the boat was ready to break apart.

All rivers flow again and again to the same place. They all flow to the sea, but the sea never becomes full.
