When we came to Rome, Paul was allowed to live alone. But a soldier stayed with him to guard him.

The next day we came to the city of Sidon. Julius was very good to Paul and gave him freedom to go visit his friends there, who gave him whatever he needed.

He told them about God’s kingdom and taught them about the Lord Jesus Christ. He was very bold, and no one tried to stop him from speaking.

But Felix had another reason for talking with Paul. He hoped Paul would pay him a bribe, so he sent for Paul often and talked with him.

The governor said, “I will hear your case when the Jews who are accusing you come here too.” Then the governor gave orders for Paul to be kept in the palace built by Herod.

But Paul’s nephew heard about this plan. He went to the army building and told Paul.

When people live to please the Lord, even their enemies will be at peace with them.

Nebuchadnezzar also gave an order about Jeremiah to commander Nebuzaradan:
