God is not a man; he will not lie. God is not a human being; his decisions will not change. If he says he will do something, then he will do it. If he makes a promise, then he will do what he promised.

It is true that some Jews were not faithful to God. But will that stop God from doing what he promised?

This faith and knowledge make us sure that we have eternal life. God promised that life to us before time began—and God does not lie.

But the Lord is faithful. He will give you strength and protect you from the Evil One.

The one who chose you will do that for you. You can trust him.

God is faithful. He is the one who has chosen you to share life with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when he says something, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath. So these two things are a great help to us who have come to God for safety. They encourage us to hold on to the hope that is ours.

The whole world, earth and sky, will be destroyed, but my words will last forever.

I don’t mean that God failed to keep his promise to the Jewish people. But only some of the people of Israel are really God’s people.

Lord, you are my God. I honor you and praise your name, because you did amazing things. The words you said long ago are completely true; everything happened exactly as you said it would.

“So remember that the Lord your God is the only God, and you can trust him! He keeps his agreement. He shows his love and kindness to all people who love him and obey his commands. He continues to show his love and kindness through a thousand generations,
