This is what the Lord says: “Bad things will happen to those who put their trust in people. Bad things will happen to those who depend on human strength. That is because they have stopped trusting the Lord.

Don’t depend on your leaders for help. Don’t depend on people, because they cannot save you.

If it is not the Lord who builds a house, the builders are wasting their time. If it is not the Lord who watches over the city, the guards are wasting their time.

People, always put your trust in God! Tell him all your problems. God is our place of safety. Selah

Help us defeat the enemy! No one on earth can rescue us.

In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s Temple will be the highest of all mountains. It will be raised higher than the hills. There will be a steady stream of people from all nations going there.

They went to Goren Atad, east of the Jordan River. There they had a long funeral service for Israel, which continued for seven days.

The king of Israel was walking on the wall around the city. A woman shouted out to him. She said, “My lord and king, please help me!”

Then he said to her, “What is your trouble?” She answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give me your son so that we can eat him today. Then we will eat my son tomorrow.’
