The Lord has become like an enemy. He has swallowed up Israel. He has swallowed up all her palaces and all her fortresses. He has made much sadness and crying for the dead in Daughter Judah.
The king of Israel said, “If the Lord does not help you, how can I help you? I cannot give you grain from the threshing floor or wine from the winepress.”
“May all your enemies die like this, Lord! But may all those who love you be as strong as the rising sun!” And there was peace in the land for 40 years.
