Elijah looked around, and by his head there was a cake that had been baked over coals and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then went back to sleep.

So the devil left him. Then some angels came to Jesus and helped him.

Ravens brought Elijah food every morning and every evening, and he drank water from the stream.

When they stepped out of the boat and onto the shore, they saw a fire of hot coals. There were fish on the fire and some bread there too.

Then he said to them, “Friends, have you caught any fish?” They answered, “No.”

That’s what those people who don’t know God are always thinking about. Don’t worry, because your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things.

They will live safely in high places. They will be protected in high rock fortresses. They will always have food and water.

So trust in the Lord and do good. Live on your land and be dependable.

While he was there, a woman came to him. She had an alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume. She poured the perfume on Jesus’ head while he was eating.

Then Elijah lay down under the bush and went to sleep. An angel came to him and touched him. The angel said, “Get up and eat!”

Later the Lord’s angel came to him again, touched him, and said, “Get up and eat! If you don’t, you will not be strong enough to make the long trip.”

You can get your water from that stream, and I have commanded ravens to bring food to you there.”
