So I beg you to be like me.
We had the right to ask you to help us. But we worked to take care of ourselves so that we would be an example for you to follow.
Brothers and sisters, join together in following my example. Also, learn by watching those who are living the way we showed you.
Follow my example, just as I follow the example of Christ.
And you became like us and like the Lord. You suffered much, but still you accepted the teaching with joy. The Holy Spirit gave you that joy.
Remember your leaders. They taught God’s message to you. Remember how they lived and died, and copy their faith.
And do what you learned and received from me—what I told you and what you saw me do. And the God who gives peace will be with you.
Don’t be like a ruler over those you are responsible for. But be good examples to them.
