When evildoers came against me to devour my flesh, my foes and my enemies stumbled and fell.
Why do you persecute me as God does? Will you never get enough of my flesh?
Haven’t the members of my household said, “Who is there who has not had enough to eat at Job’s table? ”
They surrounded me like bees; they were extinguished like a fire among thorns; in the name of Yahweh I destroyed them.
Will evildoers never understand? They consume My people as they consume bread; they do not call on the Lord.
The ropes of death were wrapped around me; the torrents of destruction terrified me.
For dogs have surrounded me; a gang of evildoers has closed in on me; they pierced my hands and my feet.
Rise up, Lord! Save me, my God! You strike all my enemies on the cheek; You break the teeth of the wicked.
Will evildoers never understand? They consume My people as they consume bread; they do not call on God.
When my enemies retreat, they stumble and perish before You.
Many will stumble over these; they will fall and be broken; they will be snared and captured.
