But now, for a brief moment, grace has come from Yahweh our God to preserve a remnant for us and give us a stake in His holy place. Even in our slavery, God has given us new life and light to our eyes.

He says to himself, “God has forgotten; He hides His face and will never see.”

He will never be shaken. The righteous man will be remembered forever.

My God, I trust in You. Do not let me be disgraced; do not let my enemies gloat over me.

Do not let my deceitful enemies rejoice over me; do not let those who hate me without cause look at me maliciously.

Do not let them say in their hearts, “Aha! Just what we wanted.” Do not let them say, “We have swallowed him up! ”

For I said, “Don’t let them rejoice over me — those who are arrogant toward me when I stumble.”

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will never be shaken.

Rise up, Lord! Do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your presence.

Man cannot be made secure by wickedness, but the root of the righteous is immovable.

They will fight against you but never prevail over you, since I am with you to rescue you.” This is the Lord’s declaration.

I weep because of these things; my eyes flow with tears. For there is no one nearby to comfort me, no one to keep me alive. My children are desolate because the enemy has prevailed.

When the Canaanites and all who live in the land hear about this, they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth. Then what will You do about Your great name? ”
