Then the priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard their voice, and their prayer came into His holy dwelling place in heaven.

“Because of the oppression of the afflicted and the groaning of the poor, I will now rise up,” says the Lord. “I will put the one who longs for it in a safe place.”

My spirit is weak within me; my heart is overcome with dismay.

Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails. Don’t hide Your face from me, or I will be like those going down to the Pit.

He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry for help and saves them.

I called to the Lord in my distress, and I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry to Him reached His ears.

“Hear my prayer, Lord, and listen to my cry for help; do not be silent at my tears. For I am a foreigner residing with You, a temporary resident like all my fathers.

I remember this as I pour out my heart: how I walked with many, leading the festive procession to the house of God, with joyful and thankful shouts.

Pay attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for I pray to You.

I call to You from the ends of the earth when my heart is without strength. Lead me to a rock that is high above me,

Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Selah

I think of God; I groan; I meditate; my spirit becomes weak. Selah

After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned because of their difficult labor, and they cried out; and their cry for help ascended to God because of the difficult labor.

You have covered Yourself with a cloud so that no prayer can pass through.

Even when I cry out and plead for help, He rejects my prayer.

Being in anguish, He prayed more fervently, and His sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.

During His earthly life, He offered prayers and appeals with loud cries and tears to the One who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.

So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the Lord, and He became weary of Israel’s misery.

“At this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him ruler over My people Israel. He will save them from the hand of the Philistines because I have seen the affliction of My people, for their cry has come to Me.”
