These are the names of the men: Caleb son of Jephunneh from the tribe of Judah;

And she conceived again, gave birth to a son, and said, “This time I will praise the Lord.” Therefore she named him Judah. Then Leah stopped having children.

While Israel was living in that region, Reuben went in and slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard about it. Jacob had 12 sons:

Leah’s sons were Reuben (Jacob’s firstborn), Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.

Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine, and Ephraim is My helmet; Judah is My scepter.

Then Caleb quieted the people in the presence of Moses and said, “We must go up and take possession of the land because we can certainly conquer it! ”

These were their names: Shammua son of Zaccur from the tribe of Reuben;

Caleb son of Jephunneh from the tribe of Judah;

But since My servant Caleb has a different spirit and has followed Me completely, I will bring him into the land where he has gone, and his descendants will inherit it.

I swear that none of you will enter the land I promised to settle you in, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh remained alive of those men who went to scout out the land.

Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who scouted out the land, tore their clothes

For the Lord had said to them that they would all die in the wilderness. None of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Take one leader from each tribe to distribute the land.

except Caleb the son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land on which he has set foot, because he followed the Lord completely.’

He said this about Judah: Lord, hear Judah’s cry and bring him to his people. He fights for his cause with his own hands, but may You be a help against his foes.
