And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until today.

When the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they were terrified and said, “This man really was God’s Son! ”

He left Nazareth behind and went to live in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.

So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own town.

When the centurion, who was standing opposite Him, saw the way He breathed His last, he said, “This man really was God’s Son! ”

When He entered Capernaum again after some days, it was reported that He was at home.

As they stretched him out for the lash, Paul said to the centurion standing by, “Is it legal for you to scourge a man who is a Roman citizen and is uncondemned? ”

Then Paul called one of the centurions and said, “Take this young man to the commander, because he has something to report to him.”

He summoned two of his centurions and said, “Get 200 soldiers ready with 70 cavalry and 200 spearmen to go to Caesarea at nine tonight.

When a gentle south wind sprang up, they thought they had achieved their purpose. They weighed anchor and sailed along the shore of Crete.

Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved.”

But the centurion kept them from carrying out their plan because he wanted to save Paul, so he ordered those who could swim to jump overboard first and get to land.

Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples heard that Peter was there and sent two men to him who begged him, “Don’t delay in coming with us.”
