“Not during the festival,” they said, “so there won’t be rioting among the people.”

At that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.

Therefore, I will have Him whipped and then release Him.”

For according to the festival he had to release someone to them.

Then they all cried out together, “Take this man away! Release Barabbas to us! ”

Then Festus, wanting to do a favor for the Jews, replied to Paul, “Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem, there to be tried before me on these charges? ”
