The one who trusts in himself is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom will be safe.

A person’s pride will humble him, but a humble spirit will gain honor.

The fear of man is a snare, but the one who trusts in the Lord is protected.

Who was it you dreaded and feared, so that you lied and didn’t remember Me or take it to heart? Have I not kept silent for such a long time and you do not fear Me?

The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable — who can understand it?

But he denied it: “Woman, I don’t know Him! ”

True enough; they were broken off by unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.

So, whoever thinks he stands must be careful not to fall.

But the cowards, unbelievers, vile, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars — their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
