Then Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to Me, because the kingdom of heaven is made up of people like this.”

When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God had commanded him.

At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to infants.

“I assure you,” He said, “unless you are converted and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

After putting His hands on them, He went on from there.

Those who are persecuted for righteousness are blessed, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

“The poor in spirit are blessed, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

When Jesus saw it, He was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me. Don’t stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

I assure you: Whoever does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Brothers, don’t be childish in your thinking, but be infants in regard to evil and adult in your thinking.

He said to me, ‘You will conceive and give birth to a son. Therefore, do not drink wine or beer, and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite to God from birth until the day of his death.’ ”

Making a vow, she pleaded, “Lord of Hosts, if You will take notice of Your servant’s affliction, remember and not forget me, and give Your servant a son, I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and his hair will never be cut.”

Hannah did not go and explained to her husband, “After the child is weaned, I’ll take him to appear in the Lord’s presence and to stay there permanently.”

When she had weaned him, she took him with her to Shiloh, as well as a three-year-old bull, half a bushel of flour, and a jar of wine. Though the boy was still young, she took him to the Lord’s house at Shiloh.

The boy Samuel served in the Lord’s presence and wore a linen ephod.
