Instead, I have calmed and quieted myself like a little weaned child with its mother; I am like a little child.

Dull the minds of these people; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed.

For this people’s heart has grown callous; their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn back — and I would cure them.

Then He called a child to Him and had him stand among them.

Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child — this one is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Then Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to Me, because the kingdom of heaven is made up of people like this.”

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “I assure you: It will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven!

For I assure you: Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass from the law until all things are accomplished.

For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

“Whenever you fast, don’t be sad-faced like the hypocrites. For they make their faces unattractive so their fasting is obvious to people. I assure you: They’ve got their reward!

So whenever you give to the poor, don’t sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. I assure you: They’ve got their reward!

“Whenever you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by people. I assure you: They’ve got their reward!

so that they may look and look, yet not perceive; they may listen and listen, yet not understand; otherwise, they might turn back — and be forgiven.”

But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Then He said, “I assure you: You will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

Jesus replied, “I assure you: Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Jesus answered, “I assure you: Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

strengthening the disciples by encouraging them to continue in the faith and by telling them, “It is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way into the kingdom of God.”

For the hearts of these people have grown callous, their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and be converted, and I would heal them.

Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

Brothers, don’t be childish in your thinking, but be infants in regard to evil and adult in your thinking.

Like newborn infants, desire the pure spiritual milk, so that you may grow by it for your salvation,

For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplied to you.
