But she replied to Him, “Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

He longed to be filled with what fell from the rich man’s table, but instead the dogs would come and lick his sores.

“But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even raise his eyes to heaven but kept striking his chest and saying, ‘God, turn Your wrath from me — a sinner! ’

for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, since the same Lord of all is rich to all who call on Him.

Now we know that whatever the law says speaks to those who are subject to the law, so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become subject to God’s judgment.

Or is God for Jews only? Is He not also for Gentiles? Yes, for Gentiles too,

Absolutely not! God must be true, even if everyone is a liar, as it is written: That You may be justified in Your words and triumph when You judge.

and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

This grace was given to me — the least of all the saints — to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of the Messiah,
