This is what the Lord says: Where is your mother’s divorce certificate that I used to send her away? Or who were My creditors that I sold you to? Look, you were sold for your iniquities, and your mother was put away because of your transgressions.

The Lord announced to me, “Unfaithful Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.

“Our father died in the wilderness, but he was not among Korah’s followers, who gathered together against the Lord. Instead, he died because of his own sin, and he had no sons.

“But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him 100 denarii. He grabbed him, started choking him, and said, ‘Pay what you owe! ’

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

“You give them something to eat,” He responded. They said to Him, “Should we go and buy 200 denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat? ”

And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone in debt to us. And do not bring us into temptation.”

But the one who did not know and did things deserving of blows will be beaten lightly. Much will be required of everyone who has been given much. And even more will be expected of the one who has been entrusted with more.

Or those 18 that the tower in Siloam fell on and killed — do you think they were more sinful than all the people who live in Jerusalem?

Jesus replied to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” “Teacher,” he said, “say it.”

Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little.”

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

The law came along to multiply the trespass. But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more
