and released the one they were asking for, who had been thrown into prison for rebellion and murder. But he handed Jesus over to their will.
Then the king told Haman, “The money and people are given to you to do with as you see fit.”
Then he released Barabbas to them. But after having Jesus flogged, he handed Him over to be crucified.
Then, willing to gratify the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. And after having Jesus flogged, he handed Him over to be crucified.
They began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man subverting our nation, opposing payment of taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is the Messiah, a King.”
So Pilate decided to grant their demand
As they led Him away, they seized Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming in from the country, and laid the cross on him to carry behind Jesus.
But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee where He started even to here.”
They shouted back, “Not this man, but Barabbas! ” Now Barabbas was a revolutionary.
So then, because of them, he handed Him over to be crucified. Therefore they took Jesus away.
But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer given to you.
“Now here is the king you’ve chosen, the one you requested. Look, this is the king the Lord has placed over you.
