But Martha was distracted by her many tasks, and she came up and asked, “Lord, don’t You care that my sister has left me to serve alone? So tell her to give me a hand.”

When evening came, the disciples approached Him and said, “This place is a wilderness, and it is already late. Send the crowds away so they can go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”

Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, “Oh no, Lord! This will never happen to You! ”

When His family heard this, they set out to restrain Him, because they said, “He’s out of His mind.”

While they were traveling, He entered a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.

The Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things,

Don’t keep striving for what you should eat and what you should drink, and don’t be anxious.

But He turned and rebuked them,

Now a man was sick, Lazarus, from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

Now Jesus loved Martha, her sister, and Lazarus.

So they gave a dinner for Him there; Martha was serving them, and Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with Him.

Don’t work for the food that perishes but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal of approval on Him.”
