He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.

Your house and kingdom will endure before Me forever, and your throne will be established forever.’ ”

The Lord swore an oath to David, a promise He will not abandon: “I will set one of your descendants on your throne.

If your sons keep My covenant and My decrees that I will teach them, their sons will also sit on your throne forever.”

Then in the tent of David a throne will be established by faithful love. A judge who seeks what is right and is quick to execute justice will sit on the throne forever.

kings and princes will enter through the gates of this city. They will sit on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses with their officials, the men of Judah, and the residents of Jerusalem. This city will be inhabited forever.

You are to say: Hear the word of the Lord, king of Judah, you who sit on the throne of David — you, your officers, and your people who enter these gates.

“In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, and this kingdom will not be left to another people. It will crush all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, but will itself endure forever.

Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

“I baptize you with water for repentance, but the One who is coming after me is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to remove His sandals. He Himself will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

But He kept silent and did not answer anything. Again the high priest questioned Him, “Are You the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One? ”

And he cried out with a loud voice, “What do You have to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You before God, don’t torment me! ”

For he will be great in the sight of the Lord and will never drink wine or beer. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit while still in his mother’s womb.

The angel replied to her: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.

And child, you will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare His ways,

John answered them all, “I baptize you with water, but One is coming who is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to untie the strap of His sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

But love your enemies, do what is good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is gracious to the ungrateful and evil.

Then the crowd replied to Him, “We have heard from the scripture that the Messiah will remain forever. So how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man? ”

We have come to believe and know that You are the Holy One of God! ”

As she followed Paul and us she cried out, “These men, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation, are the slaves of the Most High God.”

Since he was a prophet, he knew that God had sworn an oath to him to seat one of his descendants on his throne.

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah! ”

However, the Most High does not dwell in sanctuaries made with hands, as the prophet says:

and who has been declared to be the powerful Son of God by the resurrection from the dead according to the Spirit of holiness.
