And he will go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the disobedient to the understanding of the righteous, to make ready for the Lord a prepared people.

Now Elijah the Tishbite, from the Gilead settlers, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, I stand before Him, and there will be no dew or rain during these years except by my command! ”

He replied, “I have not destroyed Israel, but you and your father’s house have, because you have abandoned the Lord’s commands and followed the Baals.

Ahab said to Elijah, “So, you have caught me, my enemy.” He replied, “I have caught you because you devoted yourself to do what is evil in the Lord’s sight.

Then Elijah said to King Ahaziah, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron — is it because there is no God in Israel for you to inquire of His will? — you will not get up from your sickbed; you will certainly die.’ ”

Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our ancestors, keep this desire forever in the thoughts of the hearts of Your people, and confirm their hearts toward You.

Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced over how God had prepared the people, for it had come about suddenly.

Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their hearts. You will listen carefully,

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His instructions have good insight. His praise endures forever.

Then they would not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not loyal and whose spirit was not faithful to God.

Those who are confused will gain understanding, and those who grumble will accept instruction.

Therefore, Israel, that is what I will do to you, and since I will do that to you, Israel, prepare to meet your God!

if you’re willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who is to come.

since John had been telling him, “It’s not lawful for you to have her! ”

For he is the one spoken of through the prophet Isaiah, who said: A voice of one crying out in the wilderness: Prepare the way for the Lord; make His paths straight!

John himself had a camel-hair garment with a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.

And child, you will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare His ways,

And what if He did this to make known the riches of His glory on objects of mercy that He prepared beforehand for glory —

giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light.

So if anyone purifies himself from anything dishonorable, he will be a special instrument, set apart, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

So now, little children, remain in Him, so that when He appears we may have boldness and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge. I also saw the people who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of God’s word, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with the Messiah for 1,000 years.

Samuel said, “Gather all Israel at Mizpah, and I will pray to the Lord on your behalf.”
